VOLUME 13 NO. 27

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE SIERRA MADRE!

A picture is worth a thousand words and as you can see, the Sierra Madre Fourth of July Parade has been called "the best ever" by some. Organized
completely by volunteers, The Fourth of July Committee, if you didn't get to go to
the parade you really missed a treat! The weather was perfect and the participants
were outstanding. Festivities began on July 3rd and culminated with the parade on
the 4th.

On the 3rd, the town dunked our Mayor John Harabedian, City Manager Gabe
Engeland, Former Mayor Arizmendi, Older American Paul Hagen, Lisa Carlson
(SMLL) and the chair of the Community Services Commission, David Ouch.

The parade had something for everyone including the premiere of the 'Sierra Madre
Tournament of Noses which crowned their first 'Nose Queen'. Barry Schwam the
organizer of the Nose Troupe can be seen below in the...what else, tissue box!

If you missed the parade, or want to watch it again, thanks to Catherine Adde and
the crew from Village Vine, you can watch it on You Tube (Sierra Made Fourth of
July Parade) or, you can view the live stream at http://villagevine.weebly.com.

The photos in this collage are courtesy of everybody! The City of Sierra Madre,
Facebook posts by Michelle Keith (Citizen of the Year) and Ms. Hudson; Debbi
Gastelo-Peters and Kista Cook. MVNews
