"THERE OUGHT TO BE A LAW" Contest

Are you a small business owner who is tired of bureaucratic red
tape? Do you have a common sense idea to cut waste from state
government? Have you thought of a sensible solution to a growing
problem in your community?

Some of the best legislative ideas come from those who have
personally experienced a problem and see a need for reform. So,
if you have an idea for a new law that you’d like me to consider, or
if you believe a certain law is problematic and should be repealed,
I hope you will participate in my 2011 "There Ought To Be A Law"
contest.

I will choose one idea to be included in my 2011 legislative
package. The person who submits the winning idea will be
invited to join me for lunch and will receive a California State
flag that has been flown over the Capitol.

To enter this year’s contest, please visit my website, at www.senate.
ca.gov/huff and fill out the short questionnaire describing your
idea. You can submit the form online or mail it to my Capitol
office by December 3, 2010, and the winner will be announced
in January.

If you have questions, please contact my Capitol office staff at
(916) 651-4029.
