ASSEMBLYMEMBER HOLDEN TO HOST 

VETERANS JOB AND RESOURCE FAIR

Claremont – Assemblymember Chris Holden 
is joining The State of California Employment 
Development Department (EDD) and America’s Job 
Center of California to sponsor a Veterans’ Jobs and 
Resource Fair. Vets will learn how to transition their 
skills from military into the civilian world with the 
help of EDD Veterans Employment Representatives.

 Veterans will be able to connect directly with 
veteran-friendly employers who are actively hiring 
and with service organizations that are committed 
to making sure our local veterans receive every 
benefit that they have earned. 

 Representatives from the Greater Los Angeles 
Area VA, CalVet, and Los Angeles County 
Department of Veterans Affairs will also be on-site 
to assist veterans obtain earned services and benefits.

CIVITAN INTERNATIONAL 

Civitan International, a volunteer service 
organization with chapters in more than 30 
nations around the world, is forming a new club 
in Monrovia.

 Best-known for its support of research to identify, 
treat and cure developmental disabilities, Civitan 
is also dedicated to community service. Civitan 
Club members perform a wide variety of volunteer 
services in their own communities, from clean-up 
projects to fundraisers in support of local service-
oriented organizations.

 Anyone interested in being part of the Monrovia 
Civitan Club is invited to attend one of their 
informational meetings on Wednesdays in 
October and November from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 
p.m. Lunch is provided at no charge. Meetings are 
held at the Monrovia Community Center, 119 Pine 
Ave., in the Multipurpose Room.
