During the week of Sunday, September 27th, to Sunday,
October 4th, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to
approximately 218 calls for service.

Tuesday, September 29th

At 1:24 am, Sierra Madre Police were patrolling the area of
Orange Grove and Baldwin when they observed a vehicle stop
past the limit line at an intersection. Officers performed a traffic
stop and upon contacting the driver, a records check revealed he
had a $40,000 warrant. Officers made contact with the female
passenger who clarified she was responsible for the vehicle.
Officers conducted a vehicle search and discovered syringes,
pills, and multiple wallets and checks with other individual’s
names and ID. Officer’s arrested both the man and woman for
identity theft, possession of stolen property, and possession
of controlled substance. The vehicle was impounded and the
subjects were transported to Pasadena Jail.

Wednesday, September 30th

At 11:15 am, Sierra Madre Police responded to the 200 block of
East Orange Grove regarding a burglary report at a residential
construction site. The victim informed Officers that the day
before, the workers left the property around 5 pm and locked
and secured the fence that surrounds the house. The following
morning he received a call from one of the workers at around
7 am stating that when they arrived they found the fence, the
garage door, and the back residence door left open. When he
arrived to the residence, he noticed that several of his tools that
were left in the garage were now missing. Although the victim
claimed that his foreman and himself were the only two with the
fence lock combination, Officers determined that the suspect(s)
entered the residence by unlocking the combination lock and
then entered the house through a faulty door and then into the
garage where the tools were stolen. This case has been forwarded
to the Detective Bureau.

At 4:34 pm, Sierra Madre Police responded to the 600 block of
Gatewood Lane regarding a residential burglary. Officers were
informed by the victim that the day before at around 6 pm,
he left the residence and secured it. The next day at around 4
pm he entered the home and went straight to his room. Once
inside his room, he noticed that his room had been rummaged
through and as he checked the rest of the house he saw that
other cabinets and drawers throughout the house had also been
rummaged through. Officers conducted a search of the property
and discovered a damaged window to the rear of the house
attached to the garage. A chair was placed under the window
and the lock on the window showed obvious signs of damage.
This case has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau.
