 Founded in 1960, the
Pasadena Senior Center is
an independent, nonprofit
organization that offers
recreational, educational,
wellness and social services
to people ages 50 and older in
a welcoming environment.
Services are also provided
for frail, low-income and
homebound seniors.

North Woods Inn, San
Gabriel and The Galley right
next door have joined to
benefit the Pasadena Ronald
McDonald House with a
toy and canned food drive
for the holidays. These two
popular restaurants enjoy
helping those whose families
are going through medical
challenges.

 The public is encouraged
to bring a new unwrapped
toy (worth $10 or more) or
7 non-perishable food items
to either North Woods Inn
San Gabriel or The Galley
(also known as The Boat).
Donors will receive a coupon
for a small salad and bread at
The Galley or a coupon for a
free dessert at North Woods
Inn.

 Both restaurants are festive
with holiday décor and
encourage patrons to help
make Christmas a little
brighter for the families who
stay at the Pasadena Ronald
McDonald House.

 Since opening in February
2004, more than 18,600
children and families have
stayed at the Pasadena
Ronald McDonald House.
Families who need services
are referred to them by
medical personnel. The
House has served families
from California, Arizona,
Colorado, Nevada, New
Mexico, Florida, Idaho,
Minnesota, Hawaii, Oregon,
and North Carolina. They
have also been honored to
serve international families
from Canada, Columbia,
Guam, Guatemala, Iraq,
Mexico, Russia, South Africa
and Vietnam. Last year 45%
of the families were new
families.

 “It is important to
remember what the holidays
represent that the spirit of
giving is what makes the
holidays truly special. Who
better to receive these gifts
than children who can
really use the toys and food,”
says Renee Clark, General
Manager of the Galley.

 “Their needs include food
as well. Canned food and
other non-perishables are
imperative to keep the House
running,” says Richard
Selvik, General Manager of
Clearman’s North Woods
Inn, San Gabriel. Both
locations will have donation
boxes for these items
starting Friday, November
25 through December 23.

 Clearman’s Galley is located
at 7215 N. Rosemead Blvd.
in San Gabriel. Hours are
11-9 Monday – Thursday,
11-10 Friday & Saturday,
and 10-9 on Sunday.

Join the Pasadena
Symphony Association

Pet of the
Week

 Six-year-old Pluto
(A400608) is an active pooch
looking for a new home.
This neutered male, black
and white pit bull mix enjoys
exploring on walks and
absolutely loves playtime,
especially if it involves a
new squeaky toy. There’s
nothing he enjoys more
than tossing a toy around
before snuggling up close
for some love and affection.
Pluto has mastered his sit,
down and stay cues, earning
him a Blue Ribbon from our
behavior staff and reducing
his adoption fee to just $100.
From his friendly smile to
his loving personality, this
dog has it all – except for
a forever home. Will it be
yours?

 Since Pluto has earned his
Blue Ribbon, his adoption
fee is just $100 and includes
the spay or neuter surgery,
microchip, and vaccinations.
Pluto also qualifies for our
Seniors for Seniors program,
so his adoption fee is only
$20 for adopters age 60 and
up.

 New adopters will receive a
complimentary health-and-
wellness exam from VCA
Animal Hospitals, as well
as a goody bag filled with
information about how to
care for your pet.

 Call the Pasadena Humane
Society & SPCA at (626)
792-7151 to ask about
A400608, or visit at 361 S.
Raymond Ave. in Pasadena.
Adoption hours are 11 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Tuesday through
Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday.

 Pets may not be available
for adoption and cannot be
held for potential adopters
by phone calls or email.
Directions and photos of
all pets can be found at
pasadenahumane.org.

Today Rose Bowl Annual
USC/UCLA Rivalry Game

 The Rose Bowl Stadium,
home to UCLA Football,
will host the Bruins’ annual
rivalry game against USC
tonight, with an official
kick-off time of 7:30 p.m..
The Pasadena Police
Department, UCLA and the
Rose Bowl Stadium urge fans
to arrive early and consider
either carpooling, taking
shuttle buses or utilizing
other means of shared
transportation to alleviate
travel time, traffic and delays
entering the Arroyo. As with
all well-attended events at
the Rose Bowl Stadium,
traffic can be expected, so
patrons are advised to plan
their trip in advance.

 The Rose Bowl Stadium is
a clear bag venue, so all bags
entering the stadium will
need to be compliant. To
ensure being in their seats
for kickoff, patrons should
allow for extra time to pass
through security screening.

 All general parking lots
open (6) six hours prior
to kick off, at 1:30 PM,
including RV and parking
for disabled patrons. There is
no space for patrons to wait
on public streets adjacent to
the Rose Bowl for parking
lots to open at 1:30 PM.
To save time on event day,
patrons can pre-purchase
parking passes online from
ParkJockey. Overnight
parking is prohibited,
including overnight RV
parking. All parking is first
come, first parked and all
parking lots close 90 minutes
after the conclusion of the
game. Disabled parking is
available at various locations
at the Rose Bowl Stadium.

 Free shuttle buses, as a
convenience, it is strongly
recommended that fans take
advantage of originating
from Old Pasadena at
Parsons Engineering, located
at Union St and Delacey
St. Shuttle buses begin
running to the Rose Bowl
Stadium beginning four (4)
hours prior to kick off and
continuing 90 minutes after
the end of the game. Parking
is available at Parsons
Engineering, entrance at
Union St at Delacey St, or
in any nearby parking lot
in Old Pasadena. Parking
fees range are $15 per car at
Parsons or at variable prices
in the city.

 Public transportation is a
great alternative for getting
to the game. Los Angeles
County Metropolitan
Transportation Authority
(METRO) Gold Line
is available with the
Memorial Park Station stop
conveniently located two
blocks from the free shuttle
to the Rose Bowl Stadium.
Please visit metro.net and
search “Gold Line” for light
rail information.

 Carpooling is crucial. The
small difference between
four versus three people
riding per car results in
8,000 fewer vehicles on the
road, greatly streamlining
traffic and parking.

 Visit the rosebowlstadium.
com for more information
and a complete list of
stadium rules and prohibited
items for entry.
