Seeking Artists for Altadena Library’s First Mini Chalk Walk The Altadena Library is seeking artists, both emerging and experienced, to participate in their first mini Chalk Walk on Saturday, July 21! The event will feature 12 selected artists’ work and will offer separate space for walk-on artists, guests, and families with children to create their own masterpieces. In it we have equipment for the public to use such as 3D printers, CNC cutters, and sewing stations. In order to use the Innovation Lab during open hours, you must have attended a 1-hour orientation and have a signed User Agreement on file. See the User Guidelines outlined below for more information about using the iLab. Orientations will be held on Mondays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 12 p.m. and registration is required to attend an orientation as spaces are limited. Innovation Lab is part of the 2018 citywide STEAM initiative where individuals will be encouraged to delve into Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics programs, classes and a host of related curriculum. Orientations for June are now open for sign-ups. Go to: cityofpasadena.net/library/ steam/ to find an orientation online; then use the RSVP function to reserve your spot. ALTADENA TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS Regular Council Meeting The Altadena Town Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Altadena Community Center located at 730 E. Altadena, Dr. (directly west of Altadena Sheriff’s Station). Altadena Town Council meetings are recorded and televised during the month on Charter cable channel. The lab includes 3D printers, computers with software for 3D printing design, a sewing machine, an embroidery machine, a laser cutter and a Carvey. Users must have a valid Pasadena Public Library card in good standing to use the lab during open hours. Users must also complete and sign the Innovation Lab User Agreement and attend an orientation before using the lab.
