Pasadena Summer 

Youth Chamber Orchestra

 Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra under the 
direction of Dr. Paul Sherman, will present their annual 
concert on June 30, at 7:30 PM, in the First Baptist Church , 
75 N. Marengo, Pasadena. The concert & parking is free and 
handicapped accessible.

 The concert will feature 6 young soloists, Caleb Wan, 
Clarinetist, playing a movement of the Mozart Clarinet 
Concerto;

Jasmine Lam, Celllist, playing "Hungarian Rhapsody" by 
Popper; Chunyi Zhou, violinist, playing two movements of 
the

 Bruch Violin Concerto; Jimmy Deng, pianist, playing a 
movement of Beethoven's Concerto #2; Ken Cheng, pianist,

playing a movement of the Saint-Saens piano concerto; and 
Arvin-Ur Gantumur, pianist, playing a movement of the

Tchaikovsky piano Concerto.

Literary Juneteenth Celebration

LitFest Pasadena Annual’s Celebration of Diverse Literary 
Culture will fete the only African-American publishing 
imprint at a United States university: Harriet Tubman 
Press. The Harriet Tubman imprint publishes academic 
work and literature, sharing stories from African-American 
communities and increasing publishing opportunities for 
African-American writers and scholars. “If we want to make 
change, we have to tell stories from different perspectives,” 
said Elias Wondimu, founder of TSEHAI who will manage 
the new imprint. Presented in partnership with LitFest
