Adopted by the Sierra Madre Kiwanis Club in 2010 as a Builder’s Club, the SMMS Hawks Helpers celebrated the end of the school year donating over 3500 volunteer hours this school year! Over three thousand, five hundred hours.....That’s a total of 46 Presidential Service Awards – 16 Gold (over 100 hours), 4 Silver (75-100 hrs) and 26 (over 50 hours) Bronze! Plus another 70 students donating hours to help their community! Hawks Helpers could be seen over the course of the year helping with events and programs at Sierra Madre Elementary School, Creative Arts Group Scarecrow Festival, Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, Sierra Madre Library, the Sierra Madre Honors program, SM Halloween Happenings & Window Painting, Decorating town for the winter holidays, Wistaria Festival, Huck Finn Day, Older American Day, SMMS dances and events, SM Community Nursery School carnival, Food Drive, SM Rose Float decorating, Sierra Madre Little Leagie Challenger shadows, Spero Foundation Hops for HOPE, Civic Club Luncheon to name a few. The Hawks Helpers are destined to be outstanding community leaders, for they truly know and understand the importance of being a part of a vibrant community through service! Thank you Hawks!
