Sierra Madre Blvd. Sierra Madre, Ca. 626-355-7135 NEXT REGULAR July 24, 2018 6:30 pm 1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & Free on-air publicity for local events Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. Your event must: • Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity • Be open to the public • Be of general interest to local citizens Just write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com. SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER July 8 to July 15, 2018 - During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 397day and night time calls for service. Sunday, July 8 - At about 11:13PM at Baldwin Ave. and Sierra Madre Bl. officers found a male subject lying in the roadway, under the influence of alcohol. Based on the officer’s observation, the subject was unable to care for himself and was transported to the Pasadena jail for booking. Monday, July 9 - Officers responded at 1:00PM to the 00 block of Rancho Rd in regards to a welfare check. Following an interview by the officers and a medical evaluation by the SM Fire Department, the subject was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Tuesday, July 10 - Officers responded to a call at about 12:03AM of a large tree that fell on a house in the 400 block of Sturtevant Dr and damaged two other homes on the same street, no persons were injured and the power lines at the location were damaged. The lines were rendered safe with one home taped off, baring entry. Thursday, July 11 - In the 200 block of Windwood Lane at about 2:39AM, officers responded to a call of noises coming from the caller's backyard. Officers contacted the man responsible and found him to be under the influence of a stimulant. SMFD responded to assess the man and subsequently transported him to a local hospital due to his elevated vitals. 4:40PM - An officer responded to the front lobby of the SMPD regarding a theft from a vehicle report. Further investigation revealed that the theft from the unlocked vehicle occurred between 3:30PM and 4:00PM in the 100 block of W. Orange Grove Ave. Friday, July 13 - A theft from a vehicle occurred in the carport in the 700 block of W. Sierra Madre Blvd. The suspect(s) smashed the front right passenger window of the vehicle and took property from the front passenger floor board.
