1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com. 

SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER

During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded 
to approximately 243 day and night time calls for service.

Monday, August 27

 Officers responded to a theft of a vehicle in the 200 block of 
Carter Ave. The vehicle was left unlocked. This incident involved 
a grey 2000 Honda CR-V, 4-door, between 6:00AM and 7:00AM.

Case to Detectives

Tuesday, August 28

 During an investigation following a traffic stop, officers discovered 
the driver was in possession of several credit cards, personal 
checks and other property that did not belong to him. The female 
passenger was found to be in possession of methamphetamine 
and under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested. 
The driver was arrested for drug possession and outstanding 
warrants.

Friday, August 31

 A resident called to complain about a vehicle that had been 
parked in the 500 block of N. Hermosa Ave. since 8-27-2018. A 
registration check of the vehicle showed it was reported stolen 
from Los Angeles on 8-20-2018.

Saturday, September 1

 At about 7:17PM a report of a suspicious person resulted in the 
arrest for public intoxication of a person sleeping on the sidewalk 
in the 00 block of Auburn Ave. The subject was transported to the 
Pasadena Jail and released to on duty jail staff.

Sunday, September 2

 Officers were dispatched to a noise disturbance at a residence in 
the 400 block of Mariposa Ave. involving a male subject. A wants/
warrant check revealed that the male had three outstanding warrants 
for his arrest. The male was arrested and transported to the 
Pasadena Jail where he was left in the custody of the on-duty jailer. 
He was later released to the Arcadia Police Department
