PUSD schools are following a hybrid simultaneous model, with student cohorts on campus for in-person learning and student cohorts remaining in distance learning. • Monday, April 12, 2021 - All students in distance learning • Tuesday, April 13, 2021 - Preschool through 2nd grade student cohorts begin returning to campus, depending on their cohort’s schedule. Please check with your school for your student’s schedule. • Tuesday, April 20, 2021 - Grades 3-5 and 6-12 student cohorts begin return-ing to campus, depending on their cohort’s schedule. Grades 3-5: please check with your school for your student’s schedule. Grades 6-12: Schools will release student cohort schedules based on results of the 6-12th Grade Return to School Survey Parents/guardians of 6-12th grade students are required to complete the Spring 2021 Return to Campus Survey Form to state your preference for your stu-dent’s learning for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. The survey closed on April 7, 2021. Once results of the survey are in, middle and high schools will set up schedules for student cohorts and inform parents/guardians about their student’s assigned schedule. Be Kind To Animals Week begins May 2. It was created by the American Humane Association in 1915 to encourage compassion to animals. Poster Themes: • Tag ‘em! • Pets rely on people to keep them happy, healthy and safe. The best way to keep our pets safe is to make sure that they have the most up to date identification. Pets can wear identification tags or have microchips. If they get lost, these items can help them get home sooner. Win-ning entries will illustrate pets wearing identification tags. • Wild about Wildlife • Wild animals are all around us. Whether it is a squir-rel in the tree, the skunk in the backyard or the coyote trotting down the street. It’s important that we learn to positively coexist with these creatures. Winning entries will illustrate positive interactions with urban wildlife. Categories: • Primary: Grades 2-5 • Intermediate: Grades 6-8 • Senior: Grades 9-12 Rules: • Poster size not to exceed 11” x 17” • Poster must include the theme name • Any traditional medium (crayons, colored pencils, watercolor, markers, acrylic paints) may be used. No photographic images or computer generated art will be accepted. • Artwork must be the original work of the artist.
