SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2023 VOLUME 17 NO. 49VOLUME 17 NO. 49 SMASH AND GRAB ROBBERY AT SANTA ANITA MALL STUNS COMMUNITY When four men described as wearing masks, sweatpants and blue hoodies descended upon The Shops At Santa Anita in Arcadia on Sunday afternoon, unsuspecting shoppers were in shock. "There was a bunch of banging noises after," Briana Arevalo, who works at the mall told NBC News. "It almost sounded like gunshots". According to the Arcadia Police Department. the thieves used hammers to smash glass display cases and stole purses and watches from the high-end bag resale store Rebag at the mall, Witnesses say that there was panic everywhere, with people runninf to avoid landed in the midst of the robbery. Authorities say the robbers left the scene in a white Infinity sedan. No injuries were reported in connection with the robbery, which happened in the span of 10 minutes. The investigation is ongoing.
