2024 OLDER MONROVIAN AWARD 
NOMINATIONS 

The City of Monrovia is looking to find the next recipient for the “Older 
Monrovian of the Year” Award. This award will go to a Monrovia resident 
age 60 years or older who have demonstrated service and community 
involvement in the 2023 year. If you know anyone who meets those 
requirements, now is the time to nominate them for this award! All 
nomination forms are due by Friday, March 29. For more information

will be honored at the Senior Recognition Luncheon on Thursday, April 25, 
at the Monrovia Community Center.


OIL RECYCLING KIT

Do you change your car’s motor oil? Did you know that used motor oil and 
oil filters are recyclable? Used oil can be re-refined or processed into new 
motor oil, reducing pollution to our drinking water and the ocean. Just one 
gallon of used oil can contaminate one million gallons of drinking water.

Pick Up a FREE Used Oil Recycling Kit

Monrovia residents can pick up a free used oil recycling kit at the Public 
Works Yard, 600 S. Mountain Avenue: Monday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 
6:00 p.m. For more information, contact Public Works directly at (626) 
932-5575.

Oil Recycling Tips:

Pick up a free used oil kit from Public Works

Recycle your used motor oil or filters for free at a certified collection center; 
always leave your items with an attendant.

NEVER mix other fluids with used motor oil

NEVER leave used motor oil or filters at a certified collection center after 
business hours

DO NOT dump used motor oil down storm water drains
