Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) Dean C. Logan announced the mailing of Sample Ballot Books to all registered voters for the November 5,
2024 General Election has started.

Sample Ballot Books are valuable resources that provide critical election information, instructions on voting options and deadlines, and local candidate statements and ballot measure
information. The Sample Ballot Book also includes information and impartial analyses for countywide and local ballot measures.

The RR/CC will continue to mail Sample Ballot Books through October 26, 2024, and will begin distributing Vote by Mail ballots on October 3, 2024.

Due to distinct printing and production processes and legal timelines, some voter may receive their Vote by Mail ballots prior to receiving the Sample Ballot. Online access to voting
materials will be available Sunday, October 6, 2024, to all voters at LAVOTE.GOV/ISB.

The RR/CC is proud to offer election materials translated into 18 different languages.

ARCADIA'S MEASURE A

What is the Measure AS Facilities Bond? The
Arcadia Community Coordinating Council
presents Arcadia Unified School District
Superintendent, Dr. David Vannasdall who
will present everything you need to know
to Vote on Measure AS, the Arcadia Unified
School District’s School Safety and Repair
Measure coming to the Nov. 5th Ballot

On July 23, the Board of Trustees voted to place
Measure AS – The Arcadia Unified School District
School Safety and Repair Measure on the November
5 ballot for voter consideration. If adopted by
voters, Measure AS will allow AUSD to address
the educational priorities the Arcadia community
has identified, such as continuing to provide clean
water, safe classrooms and school sites, preparing
students for college and careers, and requiring all
funds be spent on Arcadia schools.

Many of Arcadia’s schools were built nearly 60
years ago and have urgent repair needs. Measure AS will address the most urgent health and
safety repairs needed in our neighborhood schools. The last couple of years have seen a record
number of school shootings in the U.S. We need to keep our schools, students, and staff safe.
In addition, we have other significant safety concerns, such as repairing aging roofs, plumbing,
restrooms, and deteriorating gas and sewer lines; removing asbestos and lead paint; updating
outdated electrical systems and security and fire systems; and making earthquake safety repairs
and improvements.

Dr. David Vannasdall has been Superintendent of the Arcadia Unified School District
since July of 2014. He has proudly served the Arcadia community for more than a decade.
Dr. Vannasdall first came to Arcadia in 2005 when he was named the Principal of Arcadia
High School. Succeeding his seven years at the helm of the Apaches, he was promoted to
Deputy Superintendent, Education Programs and Services in 2012. Before joining AUSD,
Dr. Vannasdall was a principal in Ohio, and also served as an Assistant Principal, School
Counselor, and Teacher.

Dr. Vannasdall is one of the foremost innovative Superintendents in the country, and has
helped transform the Arcadia Unified School District into one of the most forward-thinking
and successful school districts in the United States. The graduation rate for Arcadia High School
is typically 99% or higher, with students matriculating to the most prestigious universities each
year, including Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, and USC to name a few. In 2016, Arcadia
High graduates were accepted into every Ivy League School in the country.

Dr. Vannasdall was critical in helping pass a $216 million facilities improvement bond, and a
$15 million parcel tax for AUSD. He led a successful 1:1 technology device rollout program for
the district’s nearly 10,000 students who attend its eleven schools. Dr. Vannasdall also helped
launch AUSD’s annual Arcadia Innovation Summit, which has become one of the leading
professional development conferences for educators in California.

After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies from the University of Kentucky,
Dr. Vannasdall later earned two Master of Arts Degrees, one in School Counseling from Xavier
University, and one in Education Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He earned
his Educational Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University in
2016.

A proud father of five, Christian, Chandler, Chloe, twins Max and Rosie, and the family
dog Nittany, Dr. Vannasdall is married to Jessica who shares his passion for education as a
Technology Coach and Teacher.
