ALPHA, OMEGA, ETERNITY AND IN BETWEEN 

On my birthday, this year which, like every year, falls smack dab on 
Halloween, I will have completed 888 months on the planet. Yep, 74 
times around the sun times 12 equals 888. New agers call 888 an angel 
number. Other angel numbers include 222, and 444. Funny, no one 
mentions the number 666 lol. I guess it’s an angel from a different 

team. The ones dressed in red! 

What a coincidence. Speaking of the Bible, many of you know, in addition to being 
a crack “cub” reporter for Mountain Views News, and a rock star with my “oldies” 
band JJ Jukebox, I am a Christian, involved with Bethany Church right there on North 
Baldwin in Sierra Madre. I like people to know you can be a “wannabe” rock star and 
a court jester and be a believer. Not only did God invent music, he invented laughter. 
And there ain’t nothing the almighty likes better...except for maybe a Tommy’s chili 
cheeseburger. Wait, no, that’s me. Never mind. 

Let me back up for a minute. Having access to the intelligence gathering department 
the CIA would love to have…the crack intelligence staff of the “Mountain Views News”,
I stumbled on the fact there are approximately 53.4% of people living in Sierra Madre 
who consider themselves to be Christians. That would be about 5,841 people. Oops,
since I wrote this there have been 3 more added. We’re up to 5,844. 

If you are a seeker looking for answers about life, you are cordially invited to join 
us for 11 Wednesdays starting this Wednesday, September 2 at 6:00pm. We will start 
each Wednesday with dinner followed by a 30-minute video and 30 more minutes in 
discussion. 

What will be discussed? How does God guide us? Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? Is 
there more to life than this? How can I have faith? Why and how do I pray? 

Firmly entrenched in my 8th decade I realize my wake up call on the other side is getting 
closer and closer. I guess anytime is a good time to consider the hereafter. What’s mybottom line feelings about my personal faith. 

I believe God is a creator by trade and training. And God isn’t going to retire anytime 
soon. We are all invited to participate in whatever the next adventure is. Participatingin His ongoing creation is not mandatory. But I’m convinced it is going to be exciting. 
Maybe my singing voice will improve.

With the little bit of space left over in this column, I thought I would share about other

rock from the 1960s and 1970s. Believe it or not God has a sense of humor. 

Life, even though it’s full of challenges, successes and failures is meant to be lived fully. 
And I think there might be considerably more in the next adventure following this one.
