PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial. Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. Your event must: • Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity • Be open to the public • Be of general interest to local citizens Just write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com. SENIOR COMMUNITY COMMISSION SEEKING OLDER AMERICAN NOMINATIONS SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER Sierra Madre, CA – January 30, 2017 - The City of Sierra Madre Community Services Department and the Senior Community Commission are seeking your collaboration The honor is a long-standing tradition in Sierra Madre and bestowed upon exceptional individuals, age 60 or older, who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service. The individual selected by you or any organization must live in Sierra Madre. All submissions are due prior to, or no later than Thursday, March 23, 2017. Recommendations are now being accepted for this recognition and will only be eligible for new candidates who have not been honored in prior years. Forms may be picked up and returned to the Hart Park House Senior Center located at 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., or please mail and/or walk in to Sierra Madre City Hall, c/o Older American Nomination, Community Services Department, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, CA 91024. The Commission will review nomination forms and select an honoree at their regularly scheduled meeting open to the public in the City Hall Council Chambers on Thursday, April 6th at 3:00 p.m. The honoree will also be recognized at a city reception held in their honor on Friday, May 12th, 2017. Thursday, March 9 At about 8:45 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 400 block of Churchill Road. The unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through a rear door while the resident was home. The suspect(s) fled once they realized that someone was home and broke the rear glass door as the left the home. No property was taken. Case forwarded to Detectives Sunday, March 12 A report of theft was taken from a vendor participating at the Westaria Festival in the 100 block of W. Sierra Madre Bl. at about 12:15 p.m. An unknown suspect(s) took an alarm clock from a display table and fled in an unknown direction.
