THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GIVES BACK 


During this week's City Council meeting, Bob and Sue Spears presented the City with a 
donation from the Sierra Madre Community Foundation (Fletcher Fund) from fundraising 
efforts for the Mt. Wilson Trail Gate. Donations made to the Fletcher Fund were made by 
Sierra Madre residents and local hikers that visit Mt. Wilson Trail. The City is thankful for 
this donation and greatly appreciates the continued support from the Sierra Madre Community 
Foundation. Bob Spears, is holding the check and former City Clerk Sue Spears is

During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 200

Sunday, December 5, VANDALISMFrom December 4, 2021, at 5:00 pm to December 5, 2021, at 10:00 am, an unknown sus-
pect forced entry into the mailbox at the residence in the 300 block of Mariposa Ave to 
steal the mail from inside the mailbox, but the mailbox was empty. The Detectives’ Bureau 
is following up on this incident for leads. 
Tuesday, December 7, THEFT FROM A VEHICLEFrom December 6, 2021, at 9:00 pm to December 7, 2021, at 8:00 am, an unknown suspect 
gained entry into an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of San Gabriel Ct and stole several 
items. The Detectives’ Bureau is following up on this incident for leads. 
Tuesday, December 7, BURGLARY FROM A VEHICLEOn December 7, 2021, between 2:10 pm to 2:20 pm, an unknown suspect forced entry into 
the victim's trailer in the 500 block of N. Sunnyside Ave and stole gardening equipment.
The Detectives’ Bureau is following up on this incident for leads. 
Wednesday, December 8, ARREST FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCEAt about 1:00 am, an officer observed a vehicle code violation and conducted a traffic 
enforcement stop. During the contact, the driver was found to be impaired and under the 
influence of an alcoholic beverage and was arrested. The driver was booked at the Pasa-
dena PD jail. 
Friday, December 10, THEFT FROM A VEHICLEOn December 10, 2021, between 12:25 pm to 12:45 pm, an unknown suspect entered the 
victim's unsecured trailer in the 200 block of E. Sierra Madre Blvd and stole gardening 
equipment.The Detectives’ Bureau is following up on this incident for leads.

SIERRA MADRE HONORS NOMINATIONS 
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 
DECEMBER 31, 2021 
This year marks the 5th Annual City of Sierra Madre and Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce joint 
event honoring those organizations and individuals that work tirelessly to make Sierra Madre a won-
derful place to live, work and play! 
In 2020, the event was held virtually due to the pandemic. This year, the event will once again be held 
in person, with all the pomp and circumstance due to the honorees. 
The Awards ceremony will be held on January 19, 2022. Nominations will be accepted for the follow-
ing recognitions: 
SIERRA MADRE CITIZEN OF THE YEAR for residents who have benefited the city during 2019 
as a volunteer. 
SIERRA MADRE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR for an outstanding business existing in Sierra Madre 
for more than 5 years that has been an active supporter of the community. 
GEORGE MAURER LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD for a person/entity whose lifetime of 
service embodies the spirit of volunteerism. 
THE WISTARIA AWARD recognizing a City/Community Partnership that assists with providing 
community wide programs and services 
THE PUBLIC SAFETY AWARD for an employee/individual for protecting and maintaining safety 
in Sierra Madre. 
COMMUNITY YOUTH SERVICE AWARD presented to youth under 18 for outstanding service 
and dedication to the community.
