KID-FIT FAMILY FUN RUN 5K – SOMETHING FOR
THE WHOLE FAMILY

San Gabriel Valley residents are invited to share in the outdoor festivities taking place at Royal Oaks
Park and the Duarte Recreational Trail Sat. May 21 from 7:30-1:00 pm. The KID-FIT Preschool Health
and Fitness Organization is hosting the event which includes the following activities:

• Picnic lunch. Bring a blanket, a labeled cooler and lunch to eat while enjoying live demonstrations,
music and vendors.
• Walk, Run or Roll. You can work towards setting a personal running record on the flat out and
back certified course or gather with family to walk at your own comfortable pace. Family members in
wheelchairs can take part in the slower paced Leisure K.
• Youth Fitness Demos. Watch fencing, do a little Hip Hop and see what the Santa Anita YMCA
has to offer. Connect with the Scouts and other local community organizations.
• Fresh Fruits and Vegetables. The Tropicana Market in Duarte will be selling fresh produce to
help you take home the freshest local and international selections.
• Kids Stuff. Young children have a shorter, 1K to take part in. They’ll receive their own goody
bag, t-shirt and race medal. All children can take part in supervised playground activities.
• Adult Fitness Fun. Gigantic parachute games, a towel workout and strength contest will be
among the park fitness activities.
• Free Vaccinations. Kaiser Permanente of Baldwin Park will be providing free COVID vaccinations
for all. An opportunity to get the entire family boosted all at once.
• Prizes and Contests. The top 3 men and women will receive division medals for each 5-year
age category. Trophies will be given out to tri-city councilmember/school board member teams who
are quickest at walking and running. Fastest high school teams will be recognized and awarded prizes.
“Staycation” prize packages will be raffled off too.
Whether you want to walk, run or just enjoy a picnic lunch in the park there’s something for everyone
at this first-time 5K to benefit Duarte youth. Check out the schedule of events. Register or donate
