BOSCO TECH TO HOST FREE COLLEGE FAIR ON
OCTOBER 13
More Than 80 Colleges & Universities Will Be Represented
ROSEMEAD, CA—September 19, 2022--Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) Don
Bosco Technical Institute will host its annual college fair for high school students and their
parents on Thursday, October 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event, which is free and open to all
local families, will feature representatives from over 80 colleges and universities.
“After a two-year hiatus due to Covid, we are very excited to bring back our in-person college
fair,” said Christine Gambill, Bosco Tech’s Director of Counseling. “In addition to a wide variety
of schools from across the country, we will also be hosting some wonderful community
organizations and vendors. We’re confident it will be a great event for our Bosco families and
the surrounding community.”
While exploring their college options, guests can take advantage of food trucks on site, including
StopBye Cafe’s Indonesian fusion, the LA Taco Guys, and The Latin Truck, who will
be serving up pupusas and other Salvadorian delights. Those with a sweet tooth will have
options ranging from Wildflower Honey Coffee to cheesecake, baked goods, kettle corn and
churros.
The LA County Registrar will be on-site to register voters, and attendees can also stop by
booths hosted by the LA County Library, LA County Fire Department, and the Rosemead
Chamber of Commerce.
Bosco Tech is located at 1151 San Gabriel Blvd in Rosemead. Gates will open at 5:30pm; parking
is free. For more information, please contact Christine Gambill at cgambill@boscotech.

Have you ever visited the firehouse or had a
fire fighter come to your school to speak? It’s just
plain smart to learn how to help prevent fires. When
fire fighters talk about fire safety we tell students:
• Get out of the house quickly if there is a fire.
• Call the fire department from a neighbor's house.
• If your clothes catch on fire remember to...
STOP, DROP AND ROLL!
Family Fire Safety Checklist
Read each of
the 15 words and phrases in the list below.
Then, find a word or phrase above that means
almost the same thing and fill in the puzzle.
1. fireplug
2. home
3. siren
4. fireman
5. getaway
Do you have smoke detectors on every level of your home?
Test them monthly. Change the batteries at least once a year.
Do you know two or more ways out of the house?
Never use elevators if there is a fire (stairs are much safer).
Have you picked a place to meet the rest of your family
once you are all out of the house?
Once you are out of the house, stay out of the house.
Don’t touch matches, lighters
or candles. They are only for
adults to use.
Cook in the kitchen only
when an adult is helping you.
Smoke rises. If there is a fire, stay low: crawl under the smoke.

New inventions help fire fighters
do their difficult work. One invention is a scanner
that can detect faint heartbeats, which can help
to find people trapped under rubble. Another is a
mask with built-in “thermal imaging” that lets fire
fighters “see” people and flames through smoke.
