SIERRA MADRE PUBLIC LIBRARY 
BOOKMARK CONTEST 

Youth Bookmark Contest sponsored by the Sierra Madre Public Library 

Local students are invited to enter the popular annual Bookmark Contest in March 2023. This 
year’s theme is: “Wonders of Reading”. 

Artwork may be designed with any tools but must be completely original work. Entries should 
showcase people, places, or things that depict the discovery and enjoyment of reading. 

Winning entries will be displayed in the Library and winners will receive a certificate and 
cash prize at a ceremony in their honor. 

The contest is open to children in Kindergarten through 8th grade who go to school in Sierra 
Madre, or live in Sierra Madre, or who have a Sierra Madre Public Library card. 

Pick up your application at the Sierra Madre Public Library, on the Library website, and at 
schools in Sierra Madre starting March 6, 2023. Entries are due by April 13, 2023 at the Library.

SIERRA MADRE WOMAN’S CLUB OFFERS 
SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL 
SENIORS 

The Sierra Madre Woman’s Club encourages local high school seniors to apply for a 
financial scholarship to pay for college or university studies. The Club has been active 
for over 100 years and its Wisteria Shop Thrift Store and other fundraisers have been 
instrumental in allowing the Club to continue awarding scholarships. 

The Club will offer six scholarship awards to deserving students. Past awards have 
been given to students from Sierra Madre, as well as students at LaSalle, Alverno 
Heights, Pasadena High School, Marshall Fundamental and Maranatha. 

Applications are available at the Sierra Madre Library or the Sierra Madre Woman’s 
Club website www.sierramadrewomansclub.org 

Completed application packets must be received no later than Saturday, March 25, 
2023 by 3pm.
