PUBLIC INVITED TO 19TH ANNUAL
MEN'S EVENSONG INVITATIONAL
SUNDAY AFTERNOON, OCTOBER 15,
AT ST. LUKE’S MONROVIA

September 29, 2023—St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Monrovia will present its
19th annual Men’s Evensong Invitational on Sunday, October 15 at 4:00 p.m.
The church is located at 122 South California Avenue at Foothill Boulevard
in Monrovia.

The public performance will spotlight the men of the choir, along with invited
guest singers from across Southern California. In addition to the Phos
Hilaron and Preces and Responses by Music Director Kent Bennett Jones, the
program will feature Psalm 23 by Franz Schubert. The officiant and cantor
will be the Rev. Neil Tadken, Rector of St. Luke’s.

A freewill offering will be taken, and a wine and cheese reception in Guild
Hall will follow the program. This will also be the first opportunity of the
choir year to shop for choir member Lyn Walsh’s legendary handmade chutneys,
jams, and marmalades.

Masks are no longer required but are available for those who would like to
wear them.

About St. Luke’s

Formally admitted to the Episcopal Diocese of California in 1891, St. Luke’s has
been a part of the Monrovia community for 125 years. The inclusive church
welcomes all to its community. The superb acoustics of its landmark 1924 Romanesque
house of worship make it a popular site for a variety of music performances.
Eucharist services are held on Sundays at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and
Wednesdays at 12:10 p.m. The Reverend Neil Tadken is Rector. For more information,
visit saintlukesmonrovia.org.

community meeting, on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the new park location (1111
Encino Ave). The discussion will be centered around ideas, questions the community
may have, and what to name the park! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to
Heather Gibson at hgibson@ci.monrovia.ca.us
