MR. RON JONES - NEW PASADENA HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH

Welcome Coach Ron Jones

Pasadena High School (PHS) has
appointed Mr. Ron Jones as the
new Head Varsity Football Coach.
Coach Ron comes to PHS with extensive
experience as a coach and
mentor for Pasadena youth.

Coach Ron played football at John
Muir High School Early College
Magnet in Pasadena, where he
was a two-year starter and was
an All-CIF wide receiver and All-
CIF defensive back. He continued
his football career at Oregon State
University where he was a three-
year letterman who exclusively
played defensive back.

After college, Coach Ron coached
at Cathedral High School as secondary
coach, Village Christian
High School as wide receiver
coach, St. Monica Catholic High
School as defensive coordinator,
Notre Dame Sherman Oaks
High School as secondary coach,
PHS as defensive coordinator, and
Burroughs High School as Assistant
Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator.
As defensive coordinator
at PHS, he was instrumental in
taking this team to the Division
3 Playoffs for the first time in the
school’s history. The PHS defense,
under his direction, averaged 5.6
points allowed per game in Pacific
League play. His areas of expertise
are defensive and offensive
strategy.

“I’m looking forward to being
the next head football coach at
Pasadena High School. It’s a great
feeling to coach in the city that I
grew up in. I can’t wait to hit the
ground running as we work to
build a program that exemplifies
excellence on the field and in the
classroom,” said Coach Ron. “My
goal is to make the Pasadena football
program attractive to players
and parents alike so that we can
keep our Pasadena high school
athletes playing in their city.”

PHS principal Matt Kodama
said, “PHS is thrilled to welcome
Coach Ron back to the Home of
the Bulldogs. With his proven
track record on the field and his
vision for developing scholar-athletes,
we look forward to a bright
future for our football program.”

“On behalf of Pasadena High
School Athletics, I would like to
welcome Coach Ron back to Bulldog
Nation,” Athletic Director
Melodee Ulmer added. “Once a
Bulldog always a Bulldog!”

Coach Ron will start in his position
immediately. Please join me
in welcoming Coach Ron home to
the Bulldog Community.
