AUTHOR
TALK
AT THE
LIBRARY

An Afternoon
with Laurie

Viera Rigler

Best-selling author Laurie
Viera Rigler will appear at
the Sierra Madre Public Library
on Saturday, May 21,
at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Rigler is the
author of two uproariously
funny novels in which the
main character finds herself
unexpectedly transported
backward or forward in time,
one to repressive 19th c. England
(Confessions of a Jane
Austen Addict), the other to
free-wheeling 21st c. America
(Rude Awakenings of a Jane
Austen Addict). The results
are hilarious, as each tries to
cope with a society she finds
utterly foreign, yet fascinating.
These delightfully inventive
feel-good reads have been
hailed by critics as “snappy,
fresh and laugh-out-loud
funny,” and “a very accurate
but humorous comparison
between the lifestyles of Jane
Austen’s time and the modern
day.”

After her presentation, which
is aptly titled, “Confessions
of a Jane Austen Addict,” Ms.
Rigler will be available to
chat and sign books. Light
refreshments will be served.
The Sierra Madre Public Library
is located at 440 W.
Sierra Madre Blvd. in Sierra
Madre. (626) 355-7186. www.

on her own,” Love Yourself presenter
Lilli Cloud.
