Free on-air publicity for local events
Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events.
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.
Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have
their event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre
Community Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra
Madre, plus surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia.
Your event must:
• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens
Just
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

Next City Council Meeting*

*This is a special meeting to discuss the GENERAL PLAN
The final agenda and staff reports will available online no later
than Friday night. Enter the date “09/30/2014” for the complete
agenda packet.
Can’t make it to the meeting, but still want to share your
thoughts? You can mail or drop off a written statement to City
Hall or email city@cityofsierramadre.com before 5:30 the night
of the meeting and your statement will be delivered to all the
Council Members.
Upcoming Public Meetings
Agendas and staff reports will be posted online 72 hours before
the meeting. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings will take
place in the City Council Chambers, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.

INVITING ALL ARTISTS!
The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library is getting ready
for the annual Wine and Cuisine Tasting Event to be
held on Friday February 20th, 2015 and we want you to be
involved! Those artists interested in having their artwork
featured on our flyers, postcards, media and the poster for
our 45th annual Wine and Cuisine Tasting fundraising
event may get an entry form from the following website:
sierramadrelibrary.org.
Forms are also available to pick up at the Sierra Madre
City Hall. All proceeds from the Wine and Cuisine
Tasting Event go to support the Sierra Madre Library. For

DEADLINE FOR HALLOWEEN
WINDOW PAINTING CONTEST
APPROACHES
Applications and guidelines for Sierra Madre’s Halloween Window
Painting Contest were distributed in local schools the week of
September 8 and can also be picked up from the Community
Services office at the recreation center and at the front desk of
City Hall. Please note that completed applications are due back to
these City locations by 5 PM on Thursday, October 9.
Students aged 9 -17 can work in teams of up to four students of
the same age group on a window design. At least one participant
must be a Sierra Madre resident. Painting will be done from
2:30-6:00 PM on Friday, October 24th and from 7:30-10:00 AM on
Saturday, October 25th. Judging will follow and awards will be
given by age groups at 12:15 that Saturday.
This year’s Halloween Window Painting Contest is sponsored
and underwritten by the Sierra Madre Civic Club and is free
to participants. Specific questions may be directed to Marcia
Bent, event chair, at 626 355-5372. We look forward to your
participation in this annual event.
