dinner to homeless 
families in the Family 
Promise support 
program. 

 The Sierra Madre 
Interact Club is a 
Rotary-sponsored 
community service 
club for young 
people ages 13-18. 
The club meets on 
Monday evenings at 
7:15PM, across the 
hall from the choir room in the United Methodist Church at the corner of Sierra Madre Blvd 
and Michillinda Ave.

1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre�s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have 
their event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre 
Community Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra 
Madre, plus surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

� Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
� Be open to the public
� Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com. 

CHRISTMAS SERVICES AT SIERRA MADRE�S VILLAGE CHURCH 

FAMILY SERVICE & MIDNIGHT MASS - ALL ARE WELCOME

 Many special events take place at Ascension during Christmastide. 
You are invited to join us as we celebrate this glorious season through 
story, pageant, song, prayer, scripture, and candlelight. This year�s 
schedule of special services for Christmas includes:

 December 24th Christmas Eve - Family Service and Pageant at 5:00 
p.m. This special family service features the Children�s Christmas 
Pageant during which our youth inspire us with an adaptation of Beverly 
Cleary�s story - The Sheep Suit and the Three Wise Persons. All children 
attending this service are encouraged to participate in the telling of the 
story. The service will also be filled with music provided by the children. 

 December 24th Christmas Eve � Carols and Hymns at 10:30 p.m. and 
Solemn Christ Mass at 11:00 p.m.

Ascension�s late Christmas Eve service features the traditional 
procession, incense, candles, prayer, sermon, and the great music of 
the season as the congregation joyously celebrates the birth of Christ. 
This glorious service of congregational and choral song, including the 
following anthems: Christmas Intrada � David Lantz; Cradle Song � 
John Rutter; Good People All, This Christmastime � Eugene Butler; 
Nativity Carol � John Rutter; I Offer My Heart � Aaron David Miller; 
Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day � John Gardner and Once As I 
Remember � Eleonor Daley.

 December 25th Christmas Day - 11:00 a.m. the Celebration of the 
Feast of the Nativity.

PARKING REGULATIONS:

Beginning on December 20th and continuing through 
January 4th 2015, overnight parking will be exempt for 
the Holiday season. Sierra Madre Police wishes you a 
safe and stress free Holiday season! Please be sure to 
like and share to help share with residents!

Hall or email city@cityofsierramadre.com before 5:30 the night 
of the meeting and your statement will be delivered to all the 
Council Members.

Upcoming Public Meetings

Agendas and staff reports will be posted online 72 hours before 
the meeting. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings will take

program for the month of December and especially 
for DECO week (December 26th to 31st).

 

 Walk up volunteers are still welcome, but, if

FREE CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING 

 Athens Services will pick up and recycle your Christmas 
Tree from December 26th to January 9th. Residents may put 
their tree by the curb on their regular pick-up day for this free 
program. Please remove stands, nails, ornaments, lights and 
tinsel, and place the trees next to your containers. Trees with 
flocking or fire retardant are acceptable. Trees over 6 feet in 
length must be cut in half. 

 If you miss the date for recycling, please cut up your tree and 
place it in your yard waste container, or call Athens Services for 
a �bulky item� pickup.
