Trick or Trunk at Farnsworth 
Park this Halloween Night

 Looking for a safe and fun activity for Halloween? Stop by 
Farnsworth Park in Altadena on Monday October 31st. from 
5:00pm to 8:00pm for “Trunk or Treat” event, at the corner of 
Concha St. and Lake Ave. This event is sponsored by L.A. County 
Parks, we will have candy and Altadena Sheriff’s Station is 
bringing Deputies and patrol car. We hope to see you there.

Poetry Fest! At Pasadena 
Senior Center Sun., Nov. 20

 Anyone who enjoys writing, reciting, reading or listening to 
poetry is invited to Poetry Fest! Sunday, Nov. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. 
at the Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St.

 Writing is therapeutic and seniors are capable of producing 
meaningful poetry and prose. Evidence-based research shows 
poetry and other forms of cultural expression offer myriad 
benefits for older adults, including improving memory and 
decreasing stress.

 Mira Mataric, who has taught the Creative Writing course at 
the Pasadena Senior Center since 1998, is organizing Poetry 
Fest! Poets, writers and musicians are encouraged to participate.

express your interest.

 The event is free to all, whether reciting, performing or listening. 
Refreshments will be served.

High Tea with Rose Parade 
Queen and Royal Court

 The Scott Pavilion at Pasadena Senior Center will be transformed 
into an elegant, beautifully decorated tea room Monday, Nov. 21, 
from 3 to 5 p.m. when members of the Pasadena Senior Center 
enjoy high tea with the 2017 Rose Queen Victoria Castellanos 
and her Royal Court consisting of Audrey Cameron, Maya Khan, 
Shannon Larsuel, Autumn Lundy, Natalie Petrosian and Emiko 
Powers.

 Prepaid $15 reservations must be received at the Welcome Desk 
or at www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org no later than Tuesday, Nov. 
15.

 Entertainment will be provided by The Tap Chicks. The event 
is sponsored by Chado Tea Room, Right at Home and The 
Kensington Assisted Living Sierra Madre.

The Altadena Town Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. 
in the Altadena Community Center located at 730 E. Altadena, Dr. (directly west of 
Altadena Sheriff’s Station). Altadena Town Council meetings are recorded and televised
