ROSEMEAD, CA. – November 2, 2016 - Don Bosco Technical Institute
(Bosco Tech) will host its annual Fall Open House on Sunday, November
20, 2016, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Prospective students and their families are invited to tour the school’s
extensive engineering and applied science labs and participate in its
signature Explore & Create workshops. Offered to boys in grades 6- 8, the
free STEM-focused workshops will feature interactive introductions to
robotics, 3D printing, polymers, designing, and more.

“Middle schoolers will enjoy the hands-on Explore and Create
workshops,” said Bosco Tech President Xavier Jimenez. “They are a great
opportunity to try what Bosco Tech students actually do. Each technology
program will offer an interesting sample of our experiential learning
curriculum.”

Also during the Open House, the school’s athletic teams and
extracurricular clubs will provide information, while the award-winning
Royal Techmen marching band will entertain the visiting crowds. Bosco
Tech’s Parent Council will host their Annual Holiday Boutique during the
Open House, featuring unique gift items, food, arts and crafts, and visits
with Santa Claus.

For more information about Open House or to reserve Explore & Create
workshop spots, visit boscotechopenhouse.eventbrite.com or contact
Director of Admissions Valeria De Luna at vdeluna@boscotech.edu or
626-940-2009.

Celebrating its sixty first year, Bosco Tech is an all-male Catholic high
school that combines a rigorous college-preparatory program with a
technology-focused education. The innovative STEM curriculum allows
students to exceed university admission requirements while completing
extensive integrated coursework in one of five applied science and
engineering fields. Each year for the past several years, one hundred
percent of the graduating class has earned college acceptances. Visit www.
boscotech.edu for more information.

According to Niche.com, Bosco Tech ranks in the top three of all-boys
schools in the Los Angeles metro area and among the top 100 all-boys
high schools in America. Founded in 2002 by Carnegie Mellon University
students as CollegeProwler.com, Niche provides reviews from everyday
experts on neighborhoods, colleges, and K-12 schools to provide students,
families and professionals with insight into important life decisions.

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED

Assemblymember Chris Holden’s 2017 Young Legislators Program Leadership Program for High School Seniors

in the 41st Assembly District

Pasadena, CA – Assemblymember Chris Holden (AD – 41) today announced
the deadline extension for the 2017 Young Legislators Program to November
15 at 5 p.m.

“I’m thrilled to launch the second annual Young Legislators Program for
the 41st Assembly District,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden. “We’ve put
together a program that will have a lasting impact on participating students
and maybe even inspire them to run for office one day.”

The Young Legislators Program is a six-month, no-cost program that
provides selected students from the 41st Assembly District an opportunity to
learn about the legislative process, services provided to constituents by elected
leaders, and the relationship between local and state governments. Students
will meet at selected sites in the 41st District for the first five sessions, and
conclude with a two-day session in Northern California.

Last year’s final session involved a tour of the Facebook headquarters in
Menlo Park, followed by a panel discussion with members of Facebook’s
government affairs team. Day two brought the students to the California State
Capitol where they toured the building, met Assemblymember Holden and sat
in on a Senate Education Committee hearing.

“The Young Legislators Program allowed me to experience state
government, make useful connections, and discover new, interesting options
for my future,” said Darcy Stone, 2016 Young Legislator and now a freshman
at the University of California, Berkeley. “It was a wonderful program and was
glad to participate.”

The 2017 Young Legislators Program is open to high school seniors living
in the 41st Assembly District. Applicants must commit to monthly Saturday
meetings starting in January 2017 and submit applications by November 15,
2016. Program details and application are available online at http://asmdc.org/
