ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP 
OPPORTUNITIES

Annually, the Sierra Madre Rose Float 
Association is proud to award a scholarship 
to qualified college-bound student who meet the following 
qualifications:

1. Applicants must be currently a student in their senior year of high 
school or be a college freshman with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

2. Applicants must have been active in one or more Sierra Madre Rose 
Float activity such as fundraising, design, construction, flowering or 
as a past or present float rider.

1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts for 
Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. PSAs 
will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and 
can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event and 
e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

CANDIDATE APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE 
FOR ALTADENA TOWN COUNCIL 

REPRESENTATIVES 8 Seats Up for June 11 Elections

 

 The Altadena Town Council Election Committee has made 
available Candidate Applications for this years’ Census Tract 
Representative Election slated for Saturday, June 11th, with early 
voting on Tuesday, June 7th.

 The unincorporated town of Altadena has eight census tracts, 
each with two Town Council representatives taking an alternating 
two-year term. The Council meets on the third Tuesday of 
each month at the Altadena Community Center, and is the voice 
of the community to the county supervisor, law enforcement 
and various utilities

 Applications can be downloaded from www.AltadenaElection.
org or www.AltadenaTownCouncil.org. Hard copies are available 
at the Altadena Library, 600 East Mariposa Street, Altadena, 
CA 91001 during regular business hours.

 The deadline for filing candidate applications is May 15th, 4:30 
pm. Continuous candidate and election information throughout 
the election cycle can be found at AltadenaElection.org
