1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts for 
Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. PSAs 
will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 24/7 and 
can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event and 
e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

Commission Announcement

 

The City of Sierra Madre Community Services Commission 
has added the Field Use Agreement to the agenda of their next 
regular meeting on Monday, November 21 at 6:30 PM in the 
City Hall Council Chambers. 

 The Field Use Agreement is an agreement between the 
City and various youth Sports Groups which prescribe access 
and use of sports fields. At this meeting you will have the 
opportunity to provide comment during the public comment 
period. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. 

 If you cannot attend the meeting but would still like to voice 
your opinions of support or concern, you may email your 
comments to Rebecca Silva, Community Services Supervisor 
at rsilva@cityofsierramadre.com or send us a letter to the 
following for consideration by the Community Services

SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER

For the period November 6, to November 13, 2016 the Sierra 
Madre Police Department responded to approximately 184 
day and night time calls for service.

Wednesday, November 9

A victim of an auto burglary filed a report at about 7:18 p.m. The 
victim stated that his unlocked vehicle was parked from 11/2/16 to 
11/8/16 in a carport in the 500 block of W. Sierra Madre Bl. Stolen 
items included the vehicle’s registration and other miscellaneous 
items. Case to detectives

Thursday, November 10

SMPD officers were dispatched to a home burglary in the 300 
block of Manzanita at about 4:53 p.m. As the victim arrived he 
noticed his garage door was open. Unknown suspect(s) entered 
the home through a rear door and ransacked the house stealing

jewelry and possibly other personal items. 

Case forwarded to Detectives

Saturday, November 12

At approximately 8:41 a.m. a SMPD vehicle was involved in a 
traffic collision with a bicyclist at the intersection of Sierra Madre 
Bl and Mountain Trail Ave. The cyclist was traveling south on 
Mountain Trail and struck the police vehicle in the intersection

causing injuries to the rider and moderate damage to the vehicle. 
The rider was transported to a local hospital for treatment by 
SMFD. Case pending further investigation

Sunday, November 13

SMPD responded to the Sierra Madre Middle School for a report 
of a vandalism. An unknown suspect(s) vandalized a storage 
container, damaging the door and doorknob. The container is 
located on the rear baseball field in the 100 block of N. Canon 
Ave. The incident occurred sometime between 10/1/16 at about 
6:00 p.m. and 11/13/16 at 6:15 p.m.
