Library Summer Events 

Innovation Lab Opens

 Our new Innovation Lab at Central Library opens 
Saturday, June 9! The lab includes 3D printers, computers 
with software for 3D printing design, a sewing machine, an 
embroidery machine, a laser cutter and a Carvey. Users must 
have a valid Pasadena Public Library card in good standing 
to use the lab during open hours. Users must also complete 
and sign the Innovation Lab User Agreement and attend an 
orientation before using the lab. For more information about 
equipment and upcoming orientations and workshops, visit

 Join us for a day of STEAM (science, technology,

outlet in a community that encourages the sharing of ideas, 
concepts and designs. 

Check out our new Innovation Lab maker space and gaming 
room. Explore the planetarium tent. Try virtual reality. 
Watch the robotics demonstration and competition. Learn 
more about STEAM from a panel of experts from Caltech 
and JPL. Visit our resource fair participants. Take home 
STEAM kits with equipment, supplies and instructions for 
you to borrow and explore further on your own at home.

6th Annual Author Fair

 Calling all local authors from the San Gabriel Valley! Come 
and participate in the Pasadena Public Library’s 6th annual 
Author Fair, featuring 50 local authors, during ArtNight 
Pasadena, Friday, Oct. 12 from 6-10 p.m.at Pasadena 
Central Library. Pasadena resident authors may sign up 
at pasadenapubliclibrary.net beginning Monday, June 25. 
San Gabriel Valley resident authors may sign up beginning 
Monday, July 9. Registration is on a first-come, first-served 
basis.

proudly presents the second 
annual summer concert festival 
“Live at the Arboretum” with 
country star and veterans’ 
advocate Trace Adkins on 
Saturday, June 16 at 7pm at the 
Los Angeles County Arboretum 
and Botanical Gardens. 

 Tickets start at $15 and 
gates open for picnic dining at 
5:30pm. This summer’s Live at 
the Arboretum concert follows 
the success of the inaugural 
2017 debut with LeAnn Rimes, 
and is presented by Supervisor 
Barger, the Los Angeles 
County Department of Parks 
& Recreation, the Los Angeles 
Arboretum Foundation and the 
Pasadena POPS.

 A three-time Grammy-
nominated member of the 
Grand Ole Opry, Trace Adkins’ 
trademark baritone has 
powered countless hits to the 
top of the charts. A veritable 
jack of all trades, Trace is a TV 
personality, actor, author, and 
most proudly a spokesman for 
the Wounded Warrior Project 
and the American Red Cross, 
for whom he raised more than 
$1.5 million dollars as winner 
of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity 
Apprentice. In recent years, 
Adkins has performed for our 
service men and women across 
12 USO Tours. Adkins’ film 
credits include The Lincoln 
Lawyer, Deepwater Horizon 
and Moms’ Night Out .
