On September 11, 2018 the City Council of the City of Sierra Madre introduced for first reading, recommending adoption 
of Ordinance 1402, amending Title 10-Vehicles and Traffic of the Sierra Madre Municipal Code by adding a definition 
to Section 10.04.165 “Recreational Vehicles” and amending Section 10.24.310 “Parking commercial and recreational 
vehicles in residential districts” by adding a reference to “recreational” to the section title and text.

The City of Sierra Madre gives notice, pursuant to State of California law, that the City Council will conduct a second 
reading of Ordinance 1402 at the September 25, 2018 City Council Meeting at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers at 
232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. All interested parties may attend this meeting and the City Council will hear them with respect 
thereto.

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The adoption of this ordinance qualifies for an exemption from the California 
Environmental Quality Act review pursuant to Title 14, Section 15061(b)(3) of the California Code of Regulations as 
it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility the adoption of this Ordinance may have a significant effect on 
the environment, because the activity is covered by the general rule that CEQA applies only to projects that have the 
potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. The intent of the ordinance is to impose greater on-street 
parking restrictions of commercial and recreational vehicles within residential districts to protect the aesthetic character of 
residential neighborhoods. Therefore, it may be seen with certainty that there is no possibility this ordinance will have a 
significant effect on the environment. 

APPEAL: If in the future anyone wishes to challenge the decision of the City Council in court, one may be limited to 
raising the issues that were raised or presented in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or before, the
