1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com. 


SIERRA MADRE 

POLICE BLOTTER

During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department 
responded to approximately 399 day and night time calls for 
service. 

Sunday, October 28 

At approximately 10:54PM officers conducted a traffic stop at 
N. Canon and Highland Ave. A registration check of a vehicle 
showed the current plate was expired for over a year but the 
vehicle displayed a current tab. The driver admitted the tab 
belonged to a different vehicle. The driver also had an open 
container of alcohol in the vehicle and admitted to drinking 
alcohol while driving. The driver was cited and released, the 
vehicle was impounded. 

Case to DA’S office 

Monday, October 29 

A pedestrian was contacted at about 2:36AM for a vehicle code 
violation and eventually arrested after the person provided 
officers with false identification and was in possession of 
narcotics paraphernalia. Subject was transported to the 
Pasadena PD Jail. 

Case to DA’s office 

8:30AM 

A resident in the 300 block of W. Sierra Madre Bl. contacted the 
Department to report that an unknown suspect(s) shattered 
the front passenger side window of her vehicle, sometime 
between 5:30PM on 10/28/18 to 8:30AM on 10/19/18. No 
property was taken from vehicle. 

Wednesday, October 31 

Around 2:30PM officers arrested a male subject for trespassing 
in the 100 block of N. Baldwin Ave. 

Sunday, November 4 

A vehicle was stopped for a vehicle code violation. The driver 
was found to be under the influence of marijuana and was 
impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to the SMPD 
jail for a Drug Recognition Evaluation and later transported to 
Pasadena Jail for booking.
