Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event

August 18 to August 31, 2019 - During this period the SMPD responded to 553 calls 
for service.

Violation of restraining order - At 12:38PM on 8/20/19, officers responded to several 
calls for service regarding a male and female arguing with each other in the 
area of Orange Grove Ave. and Sunnyside Ave. During the interview process it 
was determined that the female subject was in violation of a domestic violence 
restraining order. The female was arrested and taken to a local hospital for medical 
clearance, then on to the Pasadena Jail for booking. Once the booking process was 
completed, she was taken to the Century Regional Detention Center. Case to the 
DA’s office for filing considerations.

DUI Arrest - Officers contacted a driver that matched the description of a prowler 
suspect, in the 200 block of W. Grandview Ave at 8:30PM on 8/22/19. The driver 
appeared to be intoxicated. Field Sobriety Tests (FST's) were conducted and the 
driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and 
booked at the Pasadena Jail and later released on a citation. Case to the DA’s office

Vandalism - On 8/23/19, officers responded to the 00 block of E. Mira Monte Ave 
at 1:33AM in regards to a vandalism investigation. An unknown suspect(s) threw 
a large rock at the front door of the residence, causing minor damage.

Hit and Run - At 8:57AM on W. Sierra Madre Bl. at Michillinda Ave. a non-injury 
hit and run traffic collision occurred that involved a vehicle that rear ended another 
vehicle stopped east of the intersection. The driver left the scene without 
exchanging any information with the driver of the vehicle that was struck. Case 
to Detectives for follow up

Stolen Mail - Officers responded on 8/23/19 at 9:21PM to a report that unknown 
person(s) stole mail from several mail boxes located in the 500 block of Sturtevant 
Dr. Officers checked the surrounding area and found additional mail scattered 
along the roadway.

Auto Burglary - Between 8/24/19 at 4:00PM and 8/25/19 at 7:10AM, an 
auto burglary occurred in the 600 block of Fairview Avenue. Unknown 
suspect(s), smashed a window and removed personal property.
