Mom, Grandma, great-grandma, great-greatgrandma Mert Waite, passed away on September
1, 2022 at the age of 97 years.

She was wonderfully devoted to her family. Preceeded
in death by her husband William “Red”

her sister, Millie Berkshire, daughter, Linda
Waite, daughter-in-law also Linda Waite as well
as her grandchildren Ginger Sanders, John Livingston,
Justin Waite and Jessica Waite. Also,
her great-grandchildren Westley Sanders, Kenneth
Sanders, Cassie Sanders, Shane Sanders,
Jessilynn Sanders, Morgan Livingston, Steven
Livingston, Scarlet Hawkins, Cheyanne Waite,
Makayla Waite, Fiona Waite, Declan Waite-Misulich
and her great-great grandchildren RyleighSanders, Logan Sanders, Knox Sanders, Kinsley
Sanders, Sophia Sanders, Grayson Sanders,
Kolton Sanders and Cedar Sanders.

Known to everyone (Not just family) as “Grandma Mert” she and Grandpa Red lived in their
beloved little cabin in the desert of Johnson Valley, California following retirement in 1976.
Everyone knew they could just show up at the door and be welcomed.

She was very active all her life. PTA, Crossing Guard, Swimming Pool Manager, bus driver,
Citizen of The Year 1972, and so much more in the city of Sierra Madre, California where they
lived prior to retirement. She was the first female school bus driver in the state of California.

Grandma and Grandpa were avid campers and fishers. They spent many happy years as campground
hosts in Oregon.

She led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle.
She was kind and generous, a good friend, and also was a strong, determined and fiercely independent
woman who loved a good poker game!.

We will miss her every day.

Unanimously Oppose Measure HR
"Do we want 6,500 square foot mansions smack dab in the middle of a
