KID-FIT’S ANNUAL ‘STOCKING FROM SANTA’ 
PROJECT BRINGS SMILES TO YOUNG 
CHILDREN’S FACES

Pasadena, CA – The Pasadena Community Job Center was filled with joy and holiday spirit 
on December 21, 2024, as it hosted KID-FIT’s annual Stockings From Santa Event. Families 
from all over the community gathered to celebrate the season and spread cheer.

The event saw children aged 2-10 receive beautifully decorated stockings filled with goodies 
such as candy, toys and clothes. All courtesy of the KID-FIT Preschool Health and Fitness 
Organization’s volunteers and donors, which include local residents and businesses along 
with prominent community leaders such as Congresswoman Grace Napolitano and Supervisor 
Kathryn Barger. Each child was encouraged to bring a letter to Santa, asking for a gift for 
someone they know, adding a personal touch to the festivities.

Families, some with as many as eight children, enjoyed the opportunity for their kids to sit on 
Santa's lap, get their picture taken with their families, and receive their stockings—all at no 
charge. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as children eagerly awaited 
their turn to meet Santa.

Michele Silence, President of KID-FIT, a preschool health and fitness organization located 
in Duarte, expressed her delight with the turnout. "It's so nice to see the excitement on the 
children's faces when they receive their stocking and see Santa," she said. The event not only 
brought joy to the children but also provided a wonderful opportunity for families to come 
together and create lasting memories.

Volunteers played a crucial role in the success of the event, handing out stockings and ensuring 
everything ran smoothly. Their dedication and hard work, along with the support of the 
job center's staff, made the event a memorable one for all involved.

The Stockings From Santa Event is a testament to the power of community and the spirit of 
giving. It's heartwarming to see organizations like KID-FIT and the Pasadena Community 
Job Center come together to make the holiday season special for children and families in 
need.

As the event concluded, the gratitude from the families was evident. The smiles on the children's 
faces and the warmth in their hearts were a reminder of the true meaning of the holiday 
season.
