FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT

June 23, 2025

Dear PUSD Community,

In light of the recent events affecting many of our families, we want to begin by reaffirming what matters
most to us: your safety, your well-being, and our collective strength as a community.

All PUSD summer programs remain open at this time. We want to reassure you that our campuses are
secure, private spaces designed to protect and support our students. Student safety is our top priority,
and always will be.

We understand that some families may need flexibility during this time. Please contact your child's
summer program administrator or teacher if this is your situation.

We also recognize the emotional toll recent events may have taken on many of our students and families.
If your student is feeling fear, stress, or anxiety, please know that they are not alone. Our counselors
and support teams are here to help. We are also working with our Food Services team to explore
alternative meal options to ensure every student continues to receive the nourishment they need.

For additional help, including legal and wellness resources, we encourage families to visit pusd.us/
immigrationresources. You will find information there that is meant to support and uplift our families
during uncertain times.

We are in this together. Thank you for your trust, your strength, and your unwavering partnership as
we navigate these challenges, always with the care of our students and employees at the center.

With deep gratitude,

Elizabeth Blanco, Ed.D.

Superintendent

PASADENA POLICE CHIEF SHARES COMMITMENT WITH PUSD
BOARD

Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris joined the Pasadena Unified School District Board meeting with a
shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our entire Pasadena community.

As local and national events unfold, we stand together with the City to support all students, families,

Our schools are places of learning, inclusion, and calm, and the Pasadena Police Department remains

to stay informed, remain peaceful, and support one another.

We also encourage our families and employees to visit the district’s dedicated webpage with helpful
resources for those navigating immigration-related concerns: pusd.us/immigrationresources.
