ARCADIA ELKS LODGE 2025 HELPS GIRL SCOUT WITH GOLD 
STAR PROJECT: 

The Arcadia Elks Lodge 2025 was excited to help Girl Scout Shelby Young with her Gold Star 
Project. Shelby held Drum Circles on July 6, July 13 and a third to be held July 20 at noon. The 
Lodge provided the use of their Lodge to Shelby and there were many Elks present to participate 
in the circle, with about 20 people participating. Shelby demonstrated how each drum 
had a different sound and then led the group in using the drums to express emotions. After 
this exercise, she then assigned each drummer a number and called numbers for the drummers 
to play their drums to highlight different combinations of sound. All participants enjoyed the 
experience and helping Shelby earn her Gold Star.

The Arcadia Elks will be providing breakfast from 9 AM to 10:30 AM for $11 including coffee 
and all are invited to have breakfast before the drumming.
