News from the City of South Pasadena 

SUSTAINABILITY FAIR: 
PLANT SWAP & GARDEN TOUR 

The City of South Pasadena, in partnership with South Pasadena Beautiful and 
Friends of South Pasadena Nature Park, invites residents and visitors to attend 
its upcoming Sustainability Fair: Plant Swap & Garden Tour, a free, family-
friendly event celebrating environmental stewardship and sustainable living. 

The event will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Arroyo 
Seco Woodland & Wildlife Park (“Nature Park”), at 100 Pasadena Avenue. The 
interactive community event offers a variety of activities designed to educate, 
inspire, and engage attendees of all ages in sustainable practices. 

Event Highlights 

• Plant Swap: Bring a plant and take a plant! The fair will have a variety of native 
and low- water plants available. Please bring a potted, labeled plant (nocuttings).
• Bike Valet: Ride your bike and park with ease! Active South Pas has your bicycle 
covered while you explore.
• Environmental Programs: Learn about water conservation rebates, organicsrecycling, the leaf blower ban, and other sustainability initiatives.
• Garden Tour: Explore South Pasadena’s superbloom and newly established 
micro-forest. 
Children can enjoy the Story Path and a Nature Scavenger Hunt. Tour times are 
scheduled for 1:45 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. 

• Garden Design Workshop: Gain expert advice on creating water-wise landscapes 
and designing rain gardens. Workshop time is scheduled from 2 p.m. – 3
p.m. Facilitated by Metropolitan Water District and Green Media Studio. 
• 3-Stream Waste Sorting Workshop: Walk through the new trash sorting system 
with waste coordinators from Athens Services. Workshop times are scheduled 
for 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. 
• Connect with Environmental Organizations: Explore booths from community 
organizations and utilities, and discover sustainable living tips! Event Access& Parking Attendees can enter the Nature Park from two locations: 
• Lower Entrance: Located just past the Arroyo Seco Golf Course driving rangevia the paved shared-use path at the west end of Lohman Lane. Limited streetparking is available on Lohman Lane. Recommended use for bike valet. 
• Upper Entrance: Located on the 100 block of Pasadena Avenue, east of YorkBoulevard Bridge. Street parking is available along Pasadena Avenue and surrounding 
streets. Please note that accessing the event area from this entrancerequires walking down a set of winding stairs.

SPRING 2026 “RETURN TO WELLNESS” 
PROGRAM FOR BREAST CANCER 
SURVIVORS 

Sierra Madre, CA — 03/27/2026 The Cancer Support Community Greater San Gabriel Valley(CSC SGV) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for its Spring 2026 Return to Wellness 
program—an eight-week, evidence-based survivorship program designed specifically for breast cancer 
survivors navigating life after treatment. This program is offered in partnership with City of Hope, a 
national leader in cancer care and research. 
Return to Wellness was originally developed by the Cancer Support Community in partnership with 
Huntington Hospital to help bridge the critical gap between the end of active treatment and the transition 
into long-term wellness and survivorship. The program is designed for women who are between 
six weeks and two years post-treatment—a period many survivors identify as one of the most challenging 
phases of their cancer journey. 

Addressing the Realities of Survivorship

Although treatment may be complete, many survivors continue to experience lingering physical and 
emotional effects, including fatigue, emotional depletion, body image concerns, peripheral neuropathy, 
and uncertainty about what comes next. For many, this stage brings a realization that life has 
changed in unexpected ways.
"Return to Wellness creates a safe, supportive space for survivors of breast cancer to process life changes, 
build physical and emotional strength, and develop a renewed sense of confidence and connection," 
shared Anna Swift, LCSW, Program and Clinical Director for CSC SG 

Program Details

The Spring 2026 session will take place:

• Dates: April 21 – June 11, 2026 
• Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM 
• Location: Cancer Support Community Greater San Gabriel Valley, Sierra Madre 
Each week includes approximately four hours of programming designed to support emotional, physical, 
and social well-being:

• Tuesdays 
o Clinician-led support group 
o Exercise and strength-training class 
• Thursdays 
o Educational workshops (nutrition, healthy lifestyle, body image, sexuality, and more) 
o Yoga and restorative movementA meaningful highlight of the program is its closing celebration dinner, graciously hosted by The Lang-
ham Huntington, Pasadena, where participants gather to reflect on their journey and celebrate theirprogress together.
