On October 8, 2019 the City Council introduced for first reading recommending adoption of Ordinance Number 1416 – 
amending the California Building Standards Code, and Ordinance 1417 – adopting and amending the the International Fire 
Code and California Fire Code. The City of Sierra Madre gives notice, pursuant to State of California law, that the City 
Council will conduct a second reading of Ordinance 1416 and 1417 at the October 22, 2019 City Council meeting at 6:30 PM 
in the City Council Chambers at 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. 

Ordinance 1416 – Updates the California Building Standards Code to include amendments to Building, Residential, Green 
Building Standards, Reference Standards, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Codes and the Los Angeles Regional Uniform 
Code Program and Technical Amendments to the 2019 California Building Code; and Ordinance 1417 adopts and amends the 
2019 International Fire Code and the 2019 California Fire Code. Additionally, this Ordinance amends current fire sprinkler 
requirements. 

All interested persons may attend this meeting and the City Council will hear them with respect thereto. This summary is 
published pursuant to Government Code Section 36933(c)(1) and a full and complete certified copy of the text of Ordinance 
1416 and 1417 is available at the City of Sierra Madre City Manager’s Office located at Sierra Madre City Hall, 232 W.
