SMASH AND GRAB ROBBERY AT
SANTA ANITA MALL STUNS COMMUNITY
When four men described as
wearing masks, sweatpants
and blue hoodies descended
upon The Shops At Santa
Anita in Arcadia on Sunday
afternoon, unsuspecting
shoppers were in shock.
"There was a bunch of banging
noises after," Briana Arevalo,
who works at the mall
told NBC News. "It almost
sounded like gunshots".
According to the Arcadia Police
Department. the thieves
used hammers to smash glass
display cases and stole purses
and watches from the high-end bag resale store Rebag at the mall,
Witnesses say that there was panic everywhere, with people runninf to avoid landed
in the midst of the robbery.
Authorities say the robbers left the scene in a white Infinity sedan. No injuries were
reported in connection with the robbery, which happened in the span of 10 minutes.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact

Project Location: 327 Sierra Woods Drive, in the City of Sierra Madre, County of Los Angeles, State of California
The City of Sierra Madre gives notice, pursuant to State of California law,
that the City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider the nomination
for local historic cultural landmark status to designate the existing
residential single family property located at 327 Sierra Woods Drive as
the “Edgar W. Camp House” in the City’s Register of Historic Resources.
Subsequently, the City Council will be considering a Mills Act contract for
restoration and rehabilitation of the subject property. The Edgar W. Camp
House is an existing residential single-family site designed by Greene and
Greene in their hallmark Craftsman style, design and workmanship retained
since its original construction. The property is also associated with
the productive life of Edgar W. Camp. Pursuant to Sierra Madre Municipal
Code Section 17.82.050, a property may be designated a historic landmark
if it meets prescribed historic or architectural criteria.
At the meeting of November 16, 2023, the Planning Commission conducted
a public hearing and voted to recommend the City Council to approve
the landmark designation.

hear them with respect thereto.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The request for designation
qualifies for a Categorical Exemption, pursuant to Sections 15301 and
15331 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as it involves
no expansion of an existing structure and pertains to preservation of a
historic resource.
APPEAL: If in the future anyone wishes to challenge the decision of the
City Council in court, one may be limited to raising the issues that were
raised or presented in written correspondence delivered to the City Council
at, or before, the scheduled public hearing. For further information
on this subject, please contact the Planning and Community Preservation

The annual holiday walk will start at St. Rita Church at 6:15pm. Participants will
be graced with music from Paul Puccinelli and hot cocoa.
From three, the walk will go down Baldwin Ave., singing their way to Kersting
Court. The crowd will hear messages for participating local Churches.
