Candace Taylor – 626-355-6040
Sponsored by Sierra Madre Woman’s Club
years, she was selected for several
specialized and highly respected
assignments, including GangEnforcement Detail, Vice, Traffic
Division, and Field Training Officer. In
each of these roles, she demonstrated
not only tactical expertise, but also the
ability to mentor, lead, and develop
others earning the respect of her peers
and supervisors.
Following her retirement from LAPD,
Jeanette continued her dedication to
public service by joining the Sierra
Madre Police Department as a part-
time officer. Her transition into the
organization was seamless, quickly
establishing herself as a trusted leader
and valued member of the department.
In April 2026, she was promoted to
the rank of Sergeant, a reflection of
her professionalism, experience, and
commitment to the community.
As a Sergeant, Jeanette leads
with integrity, accountability, and a
strong emphasis on mentorship. She
is known for her ability to connect
with officers at all levels, providingguidance, support, and clear direction
while fostering a culture of teamwork
and professionalism. Her leadership
style reflects her belief that effective
policing begins with strong internal
relationships and a shared commitment
to serving the public with respect and
transparency.
Jeanette is also spearheading the
Sierra Madre Police Explorer Program,
where she is investing in the youth of
the community and the next generation
of law enforcement professionals. The
Explorer Program provides young men
and women with hands-on exposure
to policing, leadership development,
and community service opportunities.
Under her leadership, the program
emphasizes character, discipline,
and community engagement, while
strengthening relationships between
the department and local youth.
Drawing from her own experience
as a former Explorer, she brings
authenticity, mentorship, and passion
to the program.
Her commitment to Sierra Madre
extends beyond enforcement, she
is dedicated to building strong
community partnerships, enhancing
public trust, and ensuring the

wealth of experience, a service-driven
mindset, and a genuine passion for
mentorship that benefits both the
department and the community.
Outside of her professional
responsibilities, Jeanette enjoys
working out, shopping, and cooking for
her family. She values quiet time and
maintains a healthy balance between
her career and personal life.

a lifelong dedication to service,
leadership, and community, and
her continued contributions to the
City of Sierra Madre exemplify the
department’s mission and values.
Respectfully,

VERONICA SAUCEDO
Veronica Saucedo brings over 20
years of law enforcement experience,
shaped by a career grounded in
service, leadership, and a genuine
commitment to the communities she
serves. Since joining the Sierra Madre
Police Department, she has embraced
the unique character of the city where
relationships, trust, and personal
connection are at the heart of effective
policing.
Veronica began her career with a
large municipal police department,
where she built a strong foundation in
patrol, investigations, and emergency
operations. Over the years, she has
taken on a variety of roles, includingdetective assignments and critical
incident response, gaining experience
that reflects both depth and versatility.
While her background is rooted in
large-agency operations, her transition
to Sierra Madre reflects her desire to
serve in a community where policing is
more personal and where officers could
truly know the people they protect.
In Sierra Madre, Veronica brings a
thoughtful and steady leadership
style. She understands that in a close-
knit community, every interaction
matters. Her approach emphasizes
professionalism, respect, and
accountability, while also valuing
approachability and communication.
She is committed to supporting her
fellow officers while ensuring the
department remains responsive and
connected to the community.
A significant part of Veronica’s career
has been dedicated to training and
mentorship. As a Certified AcademyInstructor and former college professor,
she has helped shape and guide new
officers, reinforcing the importance
of strong values, sound decision-
making, and ethical leadership. That
same commitment carries over to
her work in Sierra Madre, where she
contributes to developing personnel
and strengthening the department’s
culture.
Veronica’s dedication to growth and
learning is evident in her academic
journey. She holds a bachelor’s degree
in Sociology with an emphasis in
Criminology, a master’s degree in
education, and a Doctorate in education
and Organizational Leadership.
She is also currently attending law
school, continuing to expand her
understanding of the legal landscape
that impacts modern policing. Her
educational background brings added
value to the department, particularlyin areas such as policy development,
risk management, and organizational
leadership.
What sets Veronica apart is her
ability to bring big-picture experience
into a small-community environment
like Sierra Madre. She combines her
knowledge, training, and leadership
with a genuine appreciation for the
city’s values, helping the department
remain forward-thinking while staying
grounded in service to its residents.
Outside of her professional
responsibilities, Veronica is a devoted
wife and mother. She enjoys spending
time with her family, being outdoors,
and reading, especially topics related
to leadership and procedural justice,
which continue to shape her perspective
as a law enforcement professional.
Guided by her personal values of “God,
Family, Country,” Veronica approaches
her work with purpose and humility.
In Sierra Madre, she continues to
demonstrate that effective policingis not just about experience, but
about connection, trust, and sincere
commitment to the community.
JEANETTE RODRIGUEZ
Jeanette Rodriguez has dedicated over
25 years to law enforcement, building a
career defined by her commitment to
community policing, proactive crime
prevention, and fostering trust between
law enforcement and the residents
they serve. Her passion for service
and leadership continues to make a
meaningful impact in the Sierra Madre
community.
Jeanette’s journey into law enforcement
began at the age of eight, when she
attended a D.A.R.E. presentation at
her elementary school. Inspired by the
officers she encountered, she set her
sights on a future in policing. That early
calling was reinforced when she joined
her local Police Explorer Program at
just 14 years old, where she developed a
strong foundation in discipline, service,
and leadership, values that continue to
guide her career today.
Jeanette graduated from the Los
Angeles Police Academy and began
her career with the Los Angeles Police
Department. Over the course of 25
