Alverno’s Festival of Haunts 

is October 30!

 Come as you aren’t to Alverno High School’s Festival of Haunts 
on Saturday, October 30 from 4-7 p.m. Alverno’s freshman class 
sponsors dress-up fun and games on the first floor, while older kids 
can explore the creeeepy attic, with thrills and chills caused by the 
sophomore class.

 Don’t miss this opportunity for Halloween fun at 
Alverno High School’s Villa del Sol’ d Oro, 200 
N. Michillinda in Sierra Madre. Admission is $2 for kids aged 
1 to 9, $3 for kids aged10 to 99. Anyone older than 99 gets in free!

Halloween Family Event

Sierra Madre United Methodist Church

What will you be for Halloween? Whether you are a child 
or an adult past the age of trick or treating, you are invited 
to join us on Sunday, October 24, at 10:30 a.m., following 
church services, for the church’s annual Halloween Chili 
and Mummy Dog Brunch. 

In addition to preparing the chili ‘n’ dogs and sweet treats, 
Adult and Family Ministries will be providing materials 
for children to make one-of-a kind 
canvas trick or treat bags. There is no 
age restriction, and all are welcome 
at this family-friendly event.

The Sierra Madre UMC is located 
at 695 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. in 
Sierra Madre, on the northeast 
corner of Michillinda and Sierra 
Madre Blvd. There is ample parking 
in the church’s lot, accessed off 
Michillinda. For more information

Halloween Games Tea 
At Woman’s Club

Sierra Madre Woman’s Club 
will host an afternoon of bridge 
or a game of your choice on 
Saturday, October 23rd from 
1 to 4 pm at the Essick House, 
their historic clubhouse. The 
clubhouse is located at 550 
W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra 
Madre.

 Jan O’Day, tea chair extraordinaire, will once again provide 
a lavish tea buffet for players to “take tea” at anytime all 
afternoon. She is well known for her delicious and delectable 
refreshments.

 Eva Poet chairs the event and invites you to gather friends 
and play together or come alone and join a group. For a 
hoot, she suggests you come in costume.

 Tickets are $15.00 with proceeds supporting club

Free Photos For Children In Costume

Creative Arts Group 108 N. Baldwin - Sierra Madre

Get an extra special Treat on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the 
Creative Arts Group! Not only will they be handing out candy to 
trick or treaters, but they also will have Lia Pearson Photography 
taking FREE pictures of kids in costume. 

 Parents can download them from the photographers website the 
very next day. 


Haunted Halloween Happening!

The City of Arcadia Recreation and Community Services Department is excited to 
announce the seventh annual Haunted Halloween event at the Arcadia Community 
Center, 365 Campus Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007! On Friday, October 29th, elementary 
school students can roam the haunted hallways of the Community Center and enjoy 
activities like the Ewey Gewey Room and Scary Crafts. Come dressed in your best 
costume to enjoy Trick or Treating, Goblin Games and outdoor activities. This event 
is free of charge and open to the public. The festivities run from 4:30-6:30pm. For
