MATER DOLOROSA TO HOLD ANNUAL 
STATIONS OF THE CROSS EVENT

Commemorate the Passion and Death of Christ

Good Friday, March 29, 2013 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The Passionists welcome the public to join in devotion of the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, 
March 29, 2013, 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Led by the Passionists, Staff, Board Members, Volunteers, 
and Members of the Community of Passionist Partners, visitors join in prayer and meditation in 
remembrance of the Passion and Death of Christ.

Come to Mater Dolorosa to prayerfully experience the Stations of the Cross, situated in the beautiful 
outdoor setting of the San Gabriel foothills. The path is the same distance walked by Jesus on the road 
to Calvary. The Retreat Center grounds are open 9:00 am to noon for individuals to come for silent 
stations meditation. The Retreat Center Grounds are closed at noon and reopen at 4:30 p.m. for the 
guided stations.

At 4:30pm, an officer initiated a vehicle stop for an equipment violation in the area of Grandview 
Avenue and Jameson Court. During an interview of the driver, the officer was able to detect the 
odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. During a subsequent search of 
the vehicle, the officer found 9mm ammunition in the center console. Further investigation revealed 
that the driver (male 30 years of age) was a felon, having been convicted for burglary in 2003. 
As a convicted felon, the individual was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. The 
driver was arrested for 30305a P.C. (Convicted Felon in Possession of Ammunition).
