FOCUS REVIEW

Will Smith’s past few movies
have not been that great. He
has not only chosen weak
projects but also given
bad performances. With
mediocre talent in front
of and behind the camera,
my expectations for ‘Focus’
were very low.

An old pro in the con
game, Nicky (Will Smith) is
approached by a newcomer,
the mysterious and talented Jess (Margot Robbie); however, when
Nicky abandons her, she must learn to survive on her own. When
their paths cross again years later, she becomes an unexpected
variable in Nicky’s last, and most ambitious, con.

‘Focus’ is an interesting movie. It is by no means one of the
best movies I have ever seen, yet, at the same time, I will not be
forgetting it anytime soon. For what it is, ‘Focus’ proved to be
far better than expected, with the standout being the chemistry
between Smith and Robbie. Together, they dominate the screen
and provide a slight comeback for Smith, who will hopefully be
acting like he does in this movie in all of his future projects.
