Events at the Library

 April is National Poetry Month, an annual event led by the 
Academy of American Poets. Join us as we celebrate poetry, 
prose and rhyme with programs for all ages. Want more info on 
National Poetry Month? Visit the Academy of American Poets’ 
webpage, www.poets.org.

Pocket Poem Writing Contest 

 Do you like to write poetry? Celebrate National Poetry Month 
by participating in our writing contest. Pick up you Poetry Pocket 
starting Saturday, April 1. Turn in your original short poem – 
written on your pocket on or before “Poem in your Pocket” Day, 
Thursday, April 27. Categories are based on age: 7 and under, 
8-12, 13-17, and 18 and up. Winners will be awarded a bookmark 
and a book of poems, and will have their poem posted on the La 
Pintoresca Branch Facebook page.
