1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER

During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department 
responded to approximately 288 day and night time 
calls for service.

Sunday, May 27

At about 11:26PM, officers responded to a location 
in the 100 block of N. Sunnyside Ave for a fight in 
progress. Officers arrived and determined that a 
battery had occurred. Neither party was desirous of 
prosecution. Officers arrested the primary agitator 
for being drunk in public and transported to the 
Pasadena PD jail.

Monday, May 28

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of E. 
Grandview Ave. for a call of a burglary from a vehicle. 
Unknown suspect(s) smashed the front passenger 
window of the vehicle and took a backpack and wallet 
from the front seat.

Wednesday, May 30

At about 5:55PM, a silver 4 door BMW with Rusnak 
paper plates were seen leaving the 700 block of 
Oak Crest Dr. driving southbound, after a resident 
observed one of the male Hispanics in the vehicle 
remove mail from a mailbox.

Thursday, May 31

Officers responded at 1:05AM to a residence in the 400 
block of E. Laurel Ave. regarding a physical altercation 
that had occurred. Following the investigation and 
with an assist from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s 
Department, an arrest was made of a female for elder 
abuse and battery. The subject was transported to the 
Pasadena PD jail.

Friday, June 1

Officers saw a male on a bicycle not stop at a red traffic 
signal light and conducted a traffic enforcement stop 
of the male. During the contact, officers located 
methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on the 
male and he additionally admitted to being under 
the influence of methamphetamine. The subject was 
arrested and transported to the Pasadena PD jail.
