1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com. 

SIERRA MADRE POLICE BLOTTER

August 12 to August 19, 2018

During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded 
to approximately 362 day and night time calls for service.

Wednesday, August 15

Between 1:45PM and 2:15PM in the 600 block of E. Grandview 
Ave, unknown suspect(s) cut a padlock and stole a hedge trimmer 
from the victim’s secured work truck. The hedge trimmer was 
valued at about $500.00.

Thursday, August 16

At about 9:04AM, officers responded to a call for service 
regarding a male sleeping in his car in the 300 block of W. 
Sierra Madre Bl. Upon further investigation of the male, it was 
determined that he had an outstanding felony warrant from an 
outside agency. The subject was arrested and transported to the 
Pasadena Jail.

This incident illustrates the importance of the Sierra Madre 
Police Department’s campaign …

Friday, August 17

In the 600 block of Edgeview Dr, between 8/16/18 at 3:30PM 
and 8/17/18 at 7:30AM, a case of vandalism was reported where 
an unknown suspect(s) in an attempt to get inside the victim’s 
vehicle, damaged the driver’s side door keyhole. 11:27PM

Officers responded to 500 block of Manzanita Ave. regarding 
subjects talking loudly in the backyard of a residence. Upon 
further investigation, it was determined that several individuals 
present at the gathering were under age and drinking alcohol. 
The home owner and parent of the teenager hosting the 
gathering was made responsible. Case to the Pasadena DA’s 
office for review.

Saturday, August 18

At approximately 2:28AM, officers conducted a traffic stop for a 
vehicle code violation. Upon further investigation it was revealed 
that the driver was driving on a suspended license. A search of 
the vehicle revealed narcotics and drug paraphernalia. A female 
passenger was cited and released in the field for possession of 
a glass smoking pipe. The driver was arrested and transported 
to Pasadena Jail where he was booked, cited and released for 
possession of a controlled substance.
