1630 AM EMERGENCY RADIO & 

Free on-air publicity for local events

 Sierra Madre’s EMERGENCY radio station is now accepting scripts 
for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) about community events. 
PSAs will be broadcast on the air at no charge. The station operates 
24/7 and can be heard at 1630 on the AM dial.

 Any local non-profit or non-commercial organization can have their 
event information broadcast to the public on Sierra Madre Community 
Information Radio. The station covers the city of Sierra Madre, plus 
surrounding areas of Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia. 

Your event must:

• Benefit a non-commercial or non-profit entity
• Be open to the public
• Be of general interest to local citizens


Just 
write a Public Service Announcement that describes your event 
and e-mail it to radio@cityofsierramadre.com.

August 19, to August 26, 2018 

During this period, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to 
approximately 281 day and night time calls for service. 

Tuesday, August 21 

At about 2:35PM, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Highland 
Ave. for a report of a petty theft. The theft occurred between 12:45AM and 
2:15PM. The suspect(s) took a wooden chest, two wooden night stand tables 
and a metal bed frame 

that were left in the driveway waiting for a pick up from a local charity 
organization. 

10:35PM 

Following a stop for a vehicle code violation and an interview with the driver, 
the driver was arrested for being an unlicensed driver and for possession 
of medication without a prescription. A passenger was arrested for four 
outstanding warrants. Both parties 

were transported to the Pasadena Jail and the vehicle was stored.

Wednesday, August 22 

Officers responded at about 6:00AM to a welfare check of a male sleeping in 
parking lot in the 00 block of N. Baldwin Ave. Upon arrival, officers noticed 
that the subject was sleeping with his pants ripped, with his genitalia exposed 
to the public. The officers woke the subject up and transported him to the 
Pasadena Jail where he was booked and released on a citation for Indecent 
Exposure. 

Case to DA’s office 

Friday, August 24 

A resident in the 300 block of E. Laurel Ave. came into the station to report 
that at approximately 9:30PM, a theft from his residence had occurred. It 
appeared that the suspect was invited into the victim’s residence to provide 
housekeeping services. Shortly after entering the residence, the suspect took 
the victim’s briefcase which contained the victim’s laptop and work related 
papers and left the home. 

Case to Detectives 

Saturday, August 25 

At about 11:46AM, officers were requested by the Sierra Madre Fire 
Department to respond to the 600 block of Woodland Dr. for a dog bite that 
occurred to a person delivering a package to the residence. The victim was 
treated at the scene.
