This is the 13th win for SMRFA out of the last 14 entries into the internationally known parade. In addition to Sierra Madre Princesses Lydia Plaut, Kate Parry and Tess Perkins adorned in traditional Japanese attire riding on the float, volunteer Saeko Kujiraoka played the Koto a traditional Japanese instrument along the parade route. The 2019 Parade Theme is "The Melody of Life" and "Harmony's Garden" is the 2019 Rose Parade float entry. The inspiration for this design is our very own Japanese Garden (Goodwill Garden) located on the campus of the Sierra Madre Elementary School. Designed by Jason Redfox.
