to Join 3x3 Basketball League

skill levels are invited for the 
next season of the Pasadena 
Senior Center 3x3 Basketball 
League for women ages 40 
and older.

 Games will be played 
Sundays, Feb. 3 to March 
10, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in 
the Braun Athletic Center 
at Caltech. Join in on any 
or all of the play dates. The 
registration fee is only $35 
per player.

Take the PUSD 2019 

LCAP Community Survey

 The Pasadena Unified 
School District is conducting 
a series of surveys to gather 
input from students, parents, 
staff, and community 
members as part of the 
development of the Local 
Control Accountability Plan 
(LCAP). 

 The State of California has 
changed the way education 
is funded. California now 
requires school districts to 
develop a Local Control and 
Accountability Plan (LCAP). 
The LCAP requires school 
districts to gather input from 
students, teachers, parents, 
community members, and 
public agencies to determine 
the goals, actions, and 
budget priorities for the 
district. Please take a few 
minutes to give your input 
to this important process.

 The LCAP must focus on 
eight areas identified as 
state priorities. The plan 
will also demonstrate how 
the district’s budget will 
help achieve the goals, and 
assess each year how well the 
strategies in the plan were 
able to improve outcomes. In 
addition to these eight areas, 
PUSD may also identify and 
incorporate in its plan goals 
related to our own local 
priorities.

The Altadena Town Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. 
in the Altadena Community Center located at 730 E. Altadena, Dr. (directly west of 
Altadena Sheriff’s Station). Altadena Town Council meetings are recorded and televised

Celebrate Black History 2019 in Pasadena by attending the 
parade and other special events, lectures and activities run 
through Sunday, March 17. The City and volunteer Black 
History Parade & Festival Planning Committee present a 
full schedule of events in celebration of the achievements by 
black Americans and in recognition of African-Americans in 
U.S. History.

 Pasadena’s Black History Month Parade is one of the largest 
in the U.S. Pasadena media, www.pasadenamedia.tv, will 
record the parade in its entirety for broadcast on KPAS, the 
City’s government TV station. A list of the events follows.
